Prayers and positive thots please

Well it looks like the moment we have worried and dreaded may have come.  Quade has injured his good leg now and it appears to be the knee.  If it is the knee on his good (left) leg then we will have to have him put to sleep.

I have had a feeling from the very beginning of this journey that my boy would not make it to surgery no matter how hard we tried to keep him safe and free from further damage.

There is no question about the choice to put him to sleep.  To see my boy crying out and in so much pain even with pain medication is tearing my heart out.  He has been so brave and endured so much already and he's stayed so loveable throughout.  It is for our love of him and how much he loves us that this decision has been made easier.

I cannot fathom putting him through another surgery on top of what he is already facing.  If he has indeed torn his cruciate ligament then that would be one major surgery with up to a three month recovery.  At that time he would be an age where they would want to do his hip surgery with another long recovery period.  When he would be around 18 to 20 months he would be neutered and with being Chriptorchid sp?? (one testicle is in his abdomen) it would be another invasive, major surgery.  Mostly this is not fair to him or to ourselves.

We pray that it is a bad sprain or something else but my heart is telling me otherwise.  Please keep him in your prayers and when the day comes that we must say good bye to him please wish him a safe journey and mostly to just be a puppy.
