Wonderful weekend!

Wow, what a great weekend!! It started out with a girls night in Terrace watching Nunsense then going out for a bite to eat and some great ceasars. I have to tell you that Nunsense was so bloody funny throughout but the 'Rush' acene still gets me to giggling so hard!

After food, drinks and very informative and umm, errr interesting conversation we were off to a bar that was/used to be country. Well the lead singer was wearing polyester pants and that should have been our clue that it was indeed NOT country, lol. People watching was hysterical, Shari and Michelle dancing was great live entertainment as well. The band starts to play Mustang Sally and Shari and I are grooving in our seats when along comes Mr. Peabody telling us to "JUST DO IT...JUST DOOOOO ITTTTT!!!" hehehe, it was rather amusing yet frightening all at the same time. Let's just say after he left Gloria was promptly asked to slide her ass and chair just a little closer so there would be no more surprise visitors, lol.

We arrived home at 3:00 a.m. and it took almost another hour just to unwind and get tired enough for sleep. It's been ages since i've been up that late and being out.

I don't have any pictures to post because I didn't have a camera but Jenny, Shari and Lucy had theirs.

Last night was Hal's Hockey teams annual bbq out at the Snowflake grounds. It was nice this year as a bunch decided to camp. Doug, Shari and Kali were kind enough to have us stay with them in the motorhome and hang for the night. THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS...WE APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH and it made the night so much more fun as I was able to have some drinks to with no worries of having to drive home later. Lil Miss Kali Joy did amazing for her first time camping too!

Here are a few random shots of last night at the bbq:

Happy Father's Day Dad!

I miss my Dad like crazy and he will always have such a special place in my heart. One of the things I miss the most is the phone calls and knowing he was really listening. He heard the things I didn't say and would never tell me what to do but instead would be a sounding board and so often just talking with him would help solve whatever was going on in my life.

One of my fondest memories is of Dad and I dancing on Graduation night..Father's and Daughters dance. The smile on his face looked like it would permanently be stuck there and even though at the time I felt slightly embarrassed I now know it was pride and unwavering love for this daughter he'd seen through so much in her life and knew he was on the doorstep of setting her free to start on her own journey.

Thank you Dad, I love you and in my dreams we still dance.

DANCE WITH MY FATHER
Artist: Luther Vandross

Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence
My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then
Spin me around 'til I fell asleep
Then up the stairs he would carry me
And I knew for sure I was loved
If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him
I'd play a song that would never, ever end
How I'd love, love, love
To dance with my father again
When I and my mother would disagree
To get my way, I would run from her to him
He'd make me laugh just to comfort me
Then finally make me do just what my mama said
Later that night when I was asleep
He left a dollar under my sheet

Never dreamed that he would be gone from me
If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him
I'd play a song that would never, ever end
'Cause I'd love, love, love
To dance with my father again

Idol wannabes??

Okay, seeing's how i've been hassled about posting the video here it goes! Pauline's son was operating the camera and there's a bit of a "Blair Witch" motion to it at first and a little out of focus...it's too bad the sound worked, lol.

Pauline and I are crazy but had a boatload of fun performing last Friday night and although there is video it's blurry and a huge file so this picture will have to do. If we do this performance at FishStock then i'll be more appropriately dressed and hope the 3 other Village People show up! LOL.

How Rotties got their markings

this was posted on a bulletin board I visit and with our love of the Rottweiler breed I just had to post it. This breed is amazing, loyal, loving and oh so gentle.

How Rotties Got Their Markings

The Rottweiler was busy doing some loyal task
when colors and things were being passed out.

Plume tails were gone and the black
was "leftover" among the choices.

The Rottie took everything in stride,
accepting his black hair and short no-nonsense coat.

But as a reward for his loyalty and accepting attitude
the angels bestowed kisses over their faces, eyes, and feet.

The bow tie is from a the hug the angels gave each of them,
and the tush?

Well that was the tush push to get them
from heaven to earth on the day they are born.

What a week!

The weather here has been absolutely fabulous and we've been enjoying every single moment of it. Hal and I have been at the river fishing in the afternoons and evenings after work. We've caught two fish but better then getting skunked.

This week was our Kitimat Idol finale and what a hoot. The Friday night judges had been challenged by the Saturday Junior Idol judges to a side competition. They in turn challenged the Event organizers....that would be Pauline and myself!! OMG this is so not something I would do at all as I'm not a person who wants to be up in front of a group of people. However, Pauline nor myself are the type of person to back down from a challenge and we took them on.

The Friday judges performed "Wake Up Little Susie". Two of them are professional singers! The Junior Idol judges lip synched "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" and it was hysterical. We managed to keep our song a complete secret until we took to the stage. There was a few chuckles from the audience at our costumes but once the first few notes started the crowd figured it out. Y-M-C-A! Did we have fun, fun, fun with it. The crowd and the judges got into the motions and singing along. Pauline was the construction worker and I was the cowboy. The winner was decided by audience response and, well I must say that Pauline and I KICKED MAJOR ASS!! Some part of me is thinking that it was a sympathy vote though, lol.

Congratulations to the new Kitimat Idol Jenn Rolfe and to our Kitimat Junior Idol Katherine Ocsavi! The judges had a very difficult time deciding and it was a matter of 1pt between each of the finalists.

Off to shower and sit on the back deck for abit before bed.

Sweet dreams all.

It's clicked...

We've been in the house for a couple of months now and it's finally clicked...this is HOME! I'm so in love with it and have so many ideas to make it us but need to stay focused on one task at a time. Hal and I are pretty much finshed for now with the yard and will decide this fall what we want to change. We want to paint the spare bedroom and the office so we need to decide on colours, then add some art to it. Hal's okay with the painting but I want to re-do the night stands and armoire too.

We found a great online site with framed and unframed pictures and are hoping to get some ordered for the main bedroom and bathroom. It definitely is expensive owning your own home but at least it's going into something that's ours. Hal had to mickey mouse the lawnmower together yesterday to finish mowing so it looks like we'll need to get a new one. No complaints on the one we had though, it's 17 years old and has mowed a whole lotta lawn, lol.

Off to sort through more crap in the office and start pricing stuff for the garage sale.
