I swear this has to be one of the most heavenly places on earth...granted I haven't travelled a lot, lol. However, I digress. Hal and I spent the day yesterday fishing the lower Kitimat and even though it was windy and a little cool the wildlife and scenery was spectacular.
We watched Eagles and their young offspring, Gulls, Osprey and various other birds soaring, diving, fishing and just playing all day long. We stopped in a little bay for some dinner and the bear tracks there were H U G E and fresh!!!!! Being frightened by the sheer number of tracks I gobbled down the two hotdogs and asked (okay so maybe I demanded) Hal to put the bbq back in the boat and lets get the hell outta there! Let's just say that Hal wears a mans size 10 shoe and I was wearing his sandals, the one set of prints was considerably larger then the size of the sandal. I should have taken pictures but just wanted to get out of there ASAP!
Other then that we had an enjoyable day laughing, sharing funny thots and cherishing our time with each other. I love that silly Sailor Man.

Awesome pics by the way. Scott wants to know what you were using? (I just showed the pics of you guys and his first reaction..."did they catch anything...what were they using??")

I agree. This place is about as close to heaven as you can get here on earth. And I would have taken off like a streak too if I had seen those bear tracks...still trying to get used to that.
We went fishing at China Bar yesterday...Jason caught his first Chinook ever...13lbs, not huge, but it sure was some good eaten today and fed 11 people very well. We saw two other guys bring in a 32lber and a 35lber...amazing. I have never seen fish that big before...in their natural element that is. Amazing. We are so lucky to live out here thats for sure.
We caught a few pinks yesterday Jenny although we were fishing for Springs but we're having a heckuva time landing them this year.

Tanya it still amazes me how big these fish get! Four years ago a friend Denise caught a 60 lb Spring. We actually had to jump in the jetboat to bring it in!!
Scott's biggest was 56 pounds 3 years ago. Yesterday he figures the fish was right there up there. The reason the line snapped....15 pound test!!!!!!!! (Duh!!) His dad had his spring rod with the 30 pound test!

My brother in law caught a 42 pounder today!! Scott and his dad each got one as well, not as big!!!
Ok Ok ....... so you guys are all talking about the fish they may have caught........yadda yadda.....but come on Pen.....tell them what you were really doing on that boat.......hehehe.....yep little sisters are still a pain in the ass even at this age.....Love ya and cant wait to get back to BC to be closer to you...
