Anger!

k, i'm pms'ing and needless to say Hal this morning starts at me right away about laundry, vacuuming, etc. and I told him if it bothered him that much get to it, that I was enjoying my morning seeing's how my first day off was spent doing stuff around here and then a trip to Terrace to pick up stuff for HIM! I got really bitchy and cranky with him then and should have just crawled into bed.

Anyways, he goes on to call me a name that he knows will make me snap (okay, I choose too..I get that) and to me that is just soooo disrespectful. Instead of calming down I reacted. I throw, let's reitterate that..I FREAKING HURLED a set of keys up the stairs! Meaning only to have them hit the floor but do they...no! Now I know why I never played ball. The keys hit the face plate of the stove, not the oven door but the upper face plate and now it's got a couple small dents from the keys. He had the balls to say "I can't believe you threw those at the stove!" "NO, I THREW THEM AT YOUR HEAD!" (not really, just wanted shock factor and got it..from both of us).

Anger is truly one letter away from danger cuz Hal was in danger of losing something today. However, I walked past him, told him clearly that I didn't want to hear another freaking word out of his mouth.

It's been a relatively quiet afternoon. *grin*

ps: I love Hal and he loves me but this morning was not a touchy, feely, happy one...we've kissed and made up and now have to pay to get the plate replaced on the stove.

Things aren't always what they seem

After posting the 10 things that bring happiness and thinking back to drifting around the lake and enjoying the sun a very funny memory came back.

Hal and I always took a cooler with us full of cold drinks, stuff for lunch and sometimes even for dinner depending on how good the fishing was. Well I was making us sandwiches when the knife went skittering across the top of the cooler and fell on the floor of the boat between Hal's feet. I bend over the cooler, bend further to reach for the knife and we hit some waves. I'm trying to get my balance and my head is bobbing up and down and my butts in the air.

Well we hear this cheer and hooting coming from another boat when we realize what it must have looked like! Even though it wasn't that at all I swear my face went 50 shades of red but oh wow did we laugh our asses off. I'll have to ask Hal if he remembers that particular fishing trip!

I hope this is Hal and I in the years ahead...

For women who live with men who love to fish!

You might be a fisherman if ...

- You have a power worm dangling from your rear view mirror because you think it makes a good air freshener
- Your wedding party had to tie tin cans on the back of your drift boat
- You call your boat 'sweetheart' and your other half 'skeeter'
- Your local tackle shop has your credit card number on file
- You keep a bonking stick by your favourite chair to change the TV channels with
- You name your dog "Abu" and your cat "Fenwick"
- You have your name painted on a parking space at the boat launch
- You have a photo of your 65 lb Spring on your desk instead of your family
- You consider Beans and Weenies a complete meal
- You think MegaBytes means a great day of fishing
- You send your child off to the first day of school with his shoes tied in a palomar knot
- You think there are four seasons: Pre-spawn, Spawn, Post Spawn and Hunting
- You trade your wife's van for a smaller vehicle so your boat will fit in the garage (or in mine and Hal's case you buy a home with a garage so you can park your boat in it!)
- Your kids/wife/gf know it's Saturday -- the boats gone!

Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul.
Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.
-Pamela Vault Starr

Remember to keep dreaming! I've heard and read numerous times quotes about friends being mirror images of ourselves. I agree and disagree at the same time as I think our friends complement us and we learn through their joy, sorrow, successes and failures.

Friends are much like family, only difference is you choose to let them be part of it. They are borne into your family through kinship, ups and downs, being there for one another and knowing that if you've screwed up your friend won't have a problem smacking you upside the head and telling you to get on with it. They would do that just as quick as giving you a hug or kind word when it's much needed.

I'm sort of rambling but wanted to say this to my friends.

"Thank you my friend, family of my heart. As the experience of youth has molded me into part of who I am today, so has your friendship. You are a gift, a blessing and for you I wish happiness and love neverending! Your personality shines through in all that you do and those that you touch. You are an inspiration, you've got great shoulders to lean on and ears that listen so well and I honestly hope to be all of those for you. "

The Obedient Wife

There was a man who had worked all of his life, had saved all of his money, and was a real miser when it came to his money.
Just before he died, he said to his wife, "When I die, I want you to take all my money and put it in the casket with me. I want to take my money to the afterlife with me."

And so he got his wife to promise him with all of her heart that when he died she would put all of the money in the casket with him.

Well, he died. He was stretched out in the casket, his wife was sitting there in black, and her friend was sitting next to her. When they finished the ceremony, just before the undertakers got ready to close the casket, the wife said, "Wait just a minute!"

She had a box with her, she came over with the box and put it in the casket.
Then the undertakers locked the casket down and they rolled it away.

So her friend said, "Girl, I know you weren't fool enough to put all that money in there with your husband."

The loyal wife replied "Listen, I'm a Christian, I can't go back on my word. I promised him that I was going to put that money in that casket with him."

"You mean to tell me you put that money in the casket with him!!!!?"

"I sure did," said the wife.

"I got it all together, put it into my account and wrote him a check.
If he can cash it, he can spend it."
